He speaks fluent English and French.
He completed his law studies and passed both state law exams in Hamburg. In 1975, Reinhard E. Bellwinkel became a member of Klöckner & Co’s Legal Department, where he worked as an attorney handling the export and international industrial plant business for the company and its subsidiaries. He was promoted to in-house counsel in December of 1976. He joined the Corporate Legal Department of German company Babcock AG (later Babcock Borsig) in 1993 and was responsible, in his capacity as Head of the International Contracts Department, for legal counsel for the international power plant projects of the affiliates belonging to the Babcock Group. Starting in 2003, Reinhard E. Bellwinkel worked at Ferrostaal AG in Essen, where he oversaw the Ferrostaal Group’s international business as Director of the Legal Department, before joining Grüter in 2010 as Of Counsel.
