Erich Grüter is a founding partner of the GRÜTER law firm and shaped the direction of the practice with his expertise in corporate law. Due to his extensive understanding of economics and business, he has repeatedly taken on advisory board positions. He also works as a notary.

He attended university in Bonn (chiefly), Geneva (as a fellow) and Cologne as part of his doctoral studies (dissertation topic: corporate law).
